Update – After using this pellet stove for a year, I wanted to provide an updated review. I have found that by adjusting the exhaust blower speeds and the air inlet restriction, the stove now works great! The hopper size is still a weak point, but considering the price, this stove has exceeded my expectations. I also discovered that the occasional "expansion" noises were due to uneven weight distribution on the feet of the machine. Once I adjusted the feet to be even, the only noise I hear is the clinking of the pellets as they come down the chute.

Overall, the noise level of this stove is similar to other brands, including Harmon.

In terms of fuel efficiency, this unit will only run for 18 hours on one 40lb. bag of pellets on the lowest setting. On setting number 3 out of 5, it will consume a bag in 12-13 hours. The hopper is designed to hold 40 lbs. of pellets, so you will need to feed the stove at least twice a day. Again, this was something I knew before purchasing the stove, so no points deducted there.

This stove burns both soft and hard wood pellets perfectly. You may need to adjust the exhaust fan voltage if opening the inlet gate inside the stove doesn't suffice. Tuning this stove can be a bit of a process, but once you find the right adjustments, it burns extremely well and clean. However, it does require patience and small incremental adjustments.

Despite these minor inconveniences, this stove is definitely worth the money. If you are looking for a top-quality stove that will last a lifetime, this may not be the best option. However, it is a good quality stove that should provide 8-10 years of operation with minimal issues.

I recently purchased this pellet stove and would like to share my objective review to help others make an informed decision. Overall, I am pleased with the performance of this stove, but there are a few suggestions I have to optimize its functionality.

When I first started the stove, I followed the instructions and used a propane torch to ignite it. It fired up easily, but be prepared for some burn off smoke for about half an hour. It is advisable to either fire it outdoors or strategically set up fans for exhaust.

The stove reached a temperature of approximately 675 degrees and provided comfortable heat. However, I noticed that the fire seemed to go out overnight, even though there were still embers in the Primary Burn Tube. To get it running again, I removed the Secondary Burn Plate to allow the ash to fall into the Ash Tray, poked the primary burn basket with a long screwdriver, and it started running again, although not at the same level as before.

By the morning of the third day, the stove had extinguished, which was disappointing. Upon reading the User Manual under "Tuning Your Stove," I discovered that widening the gaps between the tubes in the primary burn basket could improve performance. I believe this is an important step that should be emphasized.

I cleaned the stove with a Shop Vac, although I now realize it may not have been entirely necessary. After cleaning, I replaced all the parts and fired it up again. This time, the temperature rose almost to the maximum of 900 degrees, so I adjusted it to a lower level. When I needed to leave for a while, I further lowered the temperature, and it was functioning perfectly when I returned. However, the following morning required some attention to bring it back to a comfortable operating temperature.

To achieve the best performance, I offer the following suggestions:

1. If you find that you don't have adequate draft, try expanding the burn cage as described.

2. If you feel that the stove is not burning at its optimum level, start by checking the ash tray and shaking the burn tubes to dislodge any accumulated fly ash. Fly ash tends to clump, especially at the rear of the secondary burn plate and in the burn cage, which can restrict the draft.

3. If the above steps fail to improve performance, you can try using a long object, such as an old automobile antenna, to remove the Air Cover on the front of the primary burn tube. Slide it through the spaces in the burn cage to dislodge any fly ash build-up. This method has worked well for me so far.

I intend to follow these steps at least twice a day to prevent fly ash build-up and ensure optimal performance.

Lastly, I want to address a confusion I had about a part. There is a stainless steel plate listed as the Pellet Slide (Pgs 18-19) that drops into the feed opening of the pellet hopper. It is Step 4 under Main Body Assembly, but I believe it could be better described in the instructions.

In case anyone is interested or has already purchased this unit, I recommend watching some informative YouTube videos. There are numerous videos available, although I must mention that one of them is quite negative, and I personally do not agree with their assessment.

Addendum: Since writing this review, I have discovered a couple more nuances. I mentioned using an old auto antenna to open the burn basket, but I have now made a tool using a 3/8" steel rod bent at a 90-degree angle with approximately 1 1/2" extended. This allows me to probe the cage top and bottom and dislodge any buildup from fly ash. Additionally, I have noticed that the chute for filling the stove with pellets is not very efficient, causing the pellets to sometimes burn back when unattended overnight. I plan to make an auxiliary add-on chute to increase capacity and prevent this issue.

The same can be said for the remote control, which, although functional, feels and looks inexpensive. It should be updated to align with the stove's high-quality construction.

Finally, I would suggest incorporating wifi controls into the stove's design. Considering that many pellet BBQ grills already offer this feature, it would be a valuable addition to the stove. Wifi controls would enhance convenience and allow for easy monitoring and adjustment of the stove's settings remotely.
